Despite various marketing techniques based on advanced technology gaining popularity, the most valuable contribution comes from the men behind it who represent the company and become its face. When people meet a company representative, they start seeing the company through that person responsible for building a trustworthy and credible image of the business and brand. But before the company representative starts acting on behalf of the company, it is essential to develop their credibility through a proper introduction by using business cards.

Business cards uphold the credible identity of the person to act as an authorized representative of the company they represent. However, in the digital age, people become doubtful about the relevance of wholesale business cards because it is now easy to track people’s identities more conveniently in the digital sphere.

But the truth is that business cards are still as relevant and vital as they used to be earlier.

Numbers tell it all

Let the naysayers who predicted the demise of business cards know clearly that they have been grossly wrong in their predictions. It might be true that the business cards are not much in focus for the ordinary person, but it maintains its place of importance in the commercial world quite convincingly. In the US alone, 10 billion business cards are printed every year, meaning printers deliver 27 million business cards every day.  Yes, business cards are still one of the most necessary tools for marketing.

The survival of business cards in the digital age is that it is much more than a piece of card that merely carries some contact information.  The role of business cards is much more than what catches the eye, and it is one of the most critical roles of taking the first step in introducing the business to people in the most trustworthy manner.   As per numbers available from a study, a company’s sales go up by 2.5% for every 2000 business cards distributed. Business cards express the seriousness and professionalism of the organization to engage in business by increasing brand awareness while gaining the trust of consumers.

Physicality matters

Despite the growing craze for virtual interactions, physical interaction still plays a dominant role in brand building.  When someone presents a business card, it allows the recipients to feel about the company behind it through real and tangible interaction. Preserving the business cards means that the recipient attaches due importance to the business and would share the information with others at the opportune moment. Unless any business is entirely irrelevant to the person who gets the business card, they will retain it for future use. Unlike any digital message that people can quickly delete and forget, they cannot just discard business cards outright. At least they would think carefully before sending it to the trash bin because they would lose all information contained in the card with no chances of retrieving it unless the company representative visits again, about which there is no certainty.

The first impression matters most

During the business introduction, the first impression matters most. Business cards are highly effective in generating the desired impact for trusting a company right from when people hear about it for the first time. Considering that business cards are like any other company’s assets, their design must have the vibes of authenticity so that the recipients can understand the serious intention of engaging in business underlined by the small rectangular pieces of cards.  A company representative takes a lot of pride in presenting the business card while introducing himself and the company because the card is the mark of reliability for both the individual and the company.

Playing with color psychology

The kind of impact that any business card can make depends on the design. Colorful cards look attractive but have a high rate of retention because it plays on the psychology of people who become closely connected to the card and hesitate to part with it. People engage more closely with colorful business cards as they take more interest in consuming the information contained in them. Moreover, the quality of printing is also a factor for impacting engagement. The ordinary looks of a white and plain business card meet with much disdain often as it is not appealing enough to inspire people to spend some time looking at it closely.

Almost 72% of people look at business cards closely to judge a company and the representative and begin to form an opinion about the company’s status judging how much trustworthy it appears at first sight.  That business cards can make or break businesses becomes clear from a survey in which 39% of people confirmed that they would not be interested in doing business with someone who carries a cheap-looking business card.
