It’s Worth Buying an Electric Car: 7 Anticipated Electric Car Launches

In the US, 77% of adults say they’d prefer to purchase from brands that aim to fight against global warming. And the same number of Americans want energy priorities to be in alternative energy sources.

Are you one of these eco-conscious Americans and you want to do your part in looking after the planet? Then you might want to consider trading in your gas-guzzling car for an electric one.

Is it worth buying an electric car? We definitely think so!

If you’re not quite convinced, then here are the 7 most anticipated electric car launches in 2022.

1. Audi E-Tron S

Audi is a luxury automotive brand that you’re sure to be familiar with. So it should come as no surprise that they’ve thrown their hat in the ring when it comes to electric vehicles (EVs).

Audi’s electric car gets up to 496 horsepower (HP) and 717 pound-foot (lb-ft) of torque. This means it’s as powerful as a gas-powered SUV, so you won’t have to be afraid of this vehicle giving out on you.

There are 2 choices for the Audi E-Tron S: there’s the conventional 2-box, as well as the Sportback.

2. Kia EV6

If you’re looking at new electric cars, most are pretty pricey. But as far as 2022 electric car launches go, the Kia EV6 is one that’s more affordable!

This EV is meant more for everyday driving, which means it gets just 168 to 321 HP. If you want more power, then no problem; the GT version gives you dual motors and is capable of 577 HP and 546 lb-ft of torque. In addition, you’ll go from 0 to 60 MPH in 3.5 seconds!

Otherwise, if you need an average electric car that’ll get you from point A to point B without racing about, the Kia EV6 will definitely do the job well. And it won’t drain your entire bank account either.

3. Tesla Roadster

What would an EV article be without a Tesla on the list? What’s interesting to note is that Tesla hasn’t sold a Roadster in over 10 years, which probably means this is the most anticipated electric car this year. They’re poised to have a huge success with this Roadster!

This vehicle will have a top speed of 250 MPH (or higher!) and you can go from 0 to 60 in under 2 seconds. Not only that, but you’ll get over 600 miles on a single battery charge, which blows all other vehicles’ capabilities out of the water by far.

This spectacularly designed car is so aerodynamic, you’ll think you’re driving a spaceship!

4. Bollinger B1

Not all electric vehicles are small and cute sedans. Take the Bollinger B1 for example; it’s a large, boxy, and masculine-looking SUV that no one would suspect of being an EV! In fact, its design makes it look ready for war.

This SUV has a 142-kWh battery that can give you up to 200 miles per charge. While this isn’t as much as other EVs, do keep in mind that this is a rather large SUV so it needs that extra power.

In addition, the Bollinger B1 has dual electric motors that are capable of 614 HP and 668 lb-ft of torque.

If you’d rather drive an electric pickup truck, then you can opt for the Bollinger B2.

5. Ford F-150 Lightning

Another choice for an electric pickup truck is the Ford F-150 Lightning. Ford’s always had a fantastic reputation for making some of the best pickups around, so it makes sense that they’d dip their toes in the EV market by creating an electric truck!

The F-150 Lightning has a minimum of 426 HP and 775 lb-ft of torque. And you get 2 battery choices: 230 or 300 miles.

That’s not all either. This truck is packed with top-of-the-line tech features, such as the ability to power your house for up to 3 days in case of emergencies.

6. Lotus Evija

For those of you with more expensive tastes, set your eyes on the Lotus Evija. Lotus has a reputation for producing roadsters that are elegant, sexy, and quick on the road. And they uphold this reputation with the Evija, even though it’s an electric vehicle.

As you’d expect, the Evija has a stunning design that’ll make heads turn wherever you go. In fact, it’s expected to be the lightest EV hypercar on the market!

Not only that, but it gets 2,000 HP and 215 miles per charge of the battery. This car will get you over 200 MPH, so it’s not a vehicle to mess around in!

7. GMC Hummer EV

You might be surprised to see the Hummer on this list. After all, it has quite the reputation for being a gas guzzler!

It looks like GMC’s trying to make up for their monster vehicles by introducing an EV, and it certainly looks promising.

Not only does the Hummer EV have a dashing design, but it’s also capable of 1,000 HP and can go from 0 to 60 in 3 seconds flat! It’s also great for off-roading and on the flip side, this car can drive itself on the highway. You’ll get 350 miles per charge of the battery, which is fairly solid.

If you like to feel the wind in your hair, then you’ll be pleased to learn that the Hummer EV’s roof can come off.
